Porzingis Returns from Injury to Drop 20 Points

Boston Takes Game 1 of the NBA Finals

Dallas, TX - The Boston Celtics dominated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, cruising to a 107-89 victory. Kristaps Porzingis made his long-awaited return from a calf injury, scoring 20 points, including 18 in the first half.

The Celtics jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 29 points in the third quarter. Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 28 points, while Jaylen Brown added 21 and Porzingis chipped in with 20.

The Mavericks, who were without injured star Luka Doncic, struggled to find any rhythm offensively. Jalen Brunson led the way with 19 points, but no other Dallas player scored more than 13.

With the win, the Celtics take a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, June 9th at 8:00 PM ET.
